ABOUT YOU
Name: Blue
Are you 18 or over?: Yes
Other characters played: NA
CHARACTER
Name: Miranda Lotto
Canon: D.Gray-man (manga)
Age: 26
History:
Here (excluding anime-only arcs).
Point in canon:
Chapter 170, while returning to the Order after completing a mission with Kanda, Allen, and Link to retrieve an Innocence. She stumbles through the window while on the Ark.
Window Location:
On the Ark.
Universe:
The D.Gray-man universe is an alternate version of the end of the 19th Century. The exact date is never specified, but will be assumed to be 1897. This universe differers from the real world though - firstly, through the existence of the Millennium Earl and the Akuma that he has created. The Akuma plague this world, although they appear to be largely unknown to most of the world's inhabitants - the stuff of urban legend, perhaps.
Countering the Earl is the Vatican controlled organisation of the Black Order who's main job is to fight the forces of the Earl. On the front line are Exorcists, who fight using anti-akuma weapons made from mysterious substance Innocence. As of Miranda's point in time, the Order has also recently acquired the Ark, allowing them to travel through gates to distant places.
Most places in the world have a history that is largely similar to that of the real world, with the exception of Japan, which has been completely cut off from the rest of the world for some time and is populated almost entirely by Akuma.
Abilities:
As an exorcist, Miranda also has the ability to use her Innocence, Time Record. The Time Record is a black disk, with two circles orbiting the center. Both of these circles have a number of smaller circles, or spots, traveling along them. When activated, the Time Record will spin and these circles will spin off and encircle the area affected by her ability, and anything that is being affected by it.
This allows her to use two abilities that manipulate time; the first, Time Recovery, will recover, heal, and restore anything that is in a particular zone. While activated, a gigantic clock face will appear above this zone. This power is temporary – once she deactivates her innocence, all damage that was made to people and objects while Time Recovery was activated will return. She cannot return the dead to life, she cannot erase time (only reverse it), and she cannot affect things which are particularly powerful.
Her second ability is Time Out, which creates a defensive space where time stops, preventing any attacks from coming into that space. Recently, she has also shown the ability to use both Time Recovery and Time Out at the same time.
Additionally, Miranda can stay awake for long periods of time (ten days is her record), and while this is a dubious skill, it does come in handy for when she needs to keep her innocence activated for long periods of time, and will not be able to sleep. She is also good at running - particularly when she's running away. Miranda is the master of the hasty exit.
Possessions:
Her Time Record, a standard issue golemwhich I am assuming has been upgraded to be able to pass through the Ark since it's seen in it in c170, her Exorcist uniform (which consists of a coat, boots, and white pants and a black turtleneck underneath), the key to her grandfather clock on a necklace, and a small bag. The bag holds mostly just a few odds and ends, like a notepad, tissues, and a purse.
Personality:
Miranda has raised nervousness and anxiety to an art form. She's spent her entire life being a perpetual screw-up, believing that she is useless. When we first meet Miranda she is depressed, gloomy, and utterly believes that she is a complete failure. Her default reaction is panic.
But, after becoming an exorcist, Miranda began to pull out of her perpetual state of failure, and became less gloomy and depressed. She is no longer as nervous as she once was - but, she is still much more anxious than the average person. She often worries about whether she is doing the right thing, or about her friends.
Due to her life spent being a failure, Miranda has a low sense of self-esteem. Because she feels insecure and useless, she often assumes that everyone else also thinks she is useless – even when that is not the case. As such, when she does screw up (or thinks she has) Miranda will apologize profusely, and attempt to repent in some ridiculously excessive way – such as jumping into the ocean.
Despite her many failures in the past, Miranda will keep on trying - even when she knows she cannot succeed. Sometimes this tendency makes her depressed, as she thinks that it might be better to just give up, but it also makes her extremely hard-working. The one thing she desires more thank anything else is to be helpful, and given the opportunity - and the support - Miranda will put everything she can into her task.
And when the safety of the people important to her is at risk, Miranda will be even more hardworking: to the extent that she will put her own health and well-being at risk to protect others. She hates to see people hurt, particularly her friends, and she will do anything she can to protect them. But when Miranda is unable to help someone, such as due to the limitations of the Innocence, she will feel her inability keenly and wish she were strong enough to do so.

Ever since Miranda had come to the Order, and finally found herself a place in the world where she could be useful, she hadn't been plagued so much by the insomnia that had been with her for most of her life. She'd been able to sleep, and the bags had long disappeared from under her eyes.
But that didn't mean she never suffered from a sleepless night. When Miranda was worried - well, more worried than usual - she'd end up once again awake all night. And right now, Miranda was worried. Cross Marian was dead, and all of the Exorcists had been told that Allen might be the host of the 14th Noah. Allen was her friend; one of the first people who'd ever believed in her, and the first to thank her. If they lost him...
So plagued by worry, Miranda wondered the Order's new headquarters aimlessly in the dead of night. It was quiet; but not absent of life as even there were Finders around, working late. Miranda ended up going straight round a corner and crashing into one, to her horror and dismay. "Oh god, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to crash into you, oh no I'm so horrible...I'll be your slave for a month to make up for it! I'm so sorry..." she babbled, but the Finder just smiled and shook it head, saying it was alright. By now, the people at the Order were used to Miranda's ways.
The Finder moved on, and Miranda was alone again with her worries.
Plans:
NA
Notes:
I would like for Miranda's world to remain completely shut off to her after she arrives, and not reopen.
DÆMON
Name: Winterhalder
Sex: Male
Form: Wood mouse
Additional notes: None! Winterhalder is just an average mouse.
Why this form: Like a mouse, Miranda is a skittish, nervous thing. Furthermore, many of the mouse's symbolic associations fit Miranda very well - temerity and shyness, modesty, super-awareness, determination, and innocence (which could double both for Miranda's own personality and her possession of Innocence). The mouse also represents new beginnings, something which is particularly important to Miranda in her transition from being a failure who'd been fired from 100 jobs to a valuable exorcist. Furthermore, the mouse is seen as a mediator between physical life and recycling life, which fits in well with her abilities as an Exorcise to temporarily 'restore' someone to perfect heath, even keeping them temporarily alive when they would normally be dead.
And lastly, the folk tale of The Lion and the Mouse illustrates in the mouse traits that Miranda also shares, in that while she is meet and nervous she is capable of coming to the defense of her friends, and has an inner strength.
